5 Things You Might Not Have Known About Me

Hello! Today's blog post is going to be something totally different that I've never done before! I go way past an introduction and get into some interesting (at least I think so) details about myself that you might not have know about me! I'd love to know some things about you that make you unique as well! Leave a comment or send me a message and let's get chatting!

1. I love cars!

I started getting into cars when I married my husband, Adrian. He had a 1994 Acura Integra that was turbocharged, which they don't come that way straight out of the factory. At first, I thought it was just a super loud, bumpy and uncomfortable car; but now I can appreciate the time and effort that he put into it! He taught me how to drive manual on his 2017 Ford Focus ST, and ever since then, I just can't stop driving. It was around the time when I needed a new car anyway because my Galant was days away from giving up the ghost. So, now I have a 2010 Mazdaspeed3! It is nowhere near a fast car, but it definitely is quick and super fun to drive!

2. I'm adopted!

A lot of people don't know this actually, because I consider my adopted parents as my true parents. They filled every shoe that a biological parent could fill plus more. My family history story is a long and complicated one, for sure! But my adopted parents took me under their wing when I was seventeen years old, and I'm sure it was crazy hard for them to put up with a teenager they didn't raise from a baby- and for that, I am truly thankful! They've seen the horrible, ugly side of me that not even my husband has seen, and they still loved and cared for me as their own daughter. I love them dearly, and if they are reading this right now, I love you mom and dad!

3. I'm a self taught photographer!

Everything that I have ever learned about photography has been completely self taught! I started taking photos in 2016 of my friends just because I had fun doing it and because they let me, lol! I started off on a Canon T3 Rebel shooting on auto mode and pressing "auto" for editing my images. I seriously didn't know anything about photography! But as photos of my friends grew somewhat better, people who attended my college started asking me to take their senior photos. Of course, I said yes, and I happily took payments in Starbucks coffee! Ever since then, I have been learning every day and growing. Youtube has been a huge help to me in learning Photoshop, and my husband has been an incredible resource in the marketing department! With his help and support, I built my photography business from the ground up by designing my own website, creating my own brand, and marketing for myself. It has been a crazy journey, but oh my goodness, has it been worth it! I absolutely love what I do now, and I wouldn't want it any other way!

4. I was a criminal justice major in college!

Ever since I was six years old, my dream has been to become a beat cop. Law enforcement made a huge impact in my life, especially in my earlier years when I was a toddler. I have always wanted to make a difference in people's lives and to be involved in the community. When I was 14 years old and lived in Peoria, Arizona, I joined the Peoria Police Explorer Program, a fantastic program for teens ages 14-21 to get involved in if they have expressed any desire in law enforcement! Sadly, I don't have any photos of me while I was in that group, so here's a photo of me next to an American Flag with my red, white, and blue crossfit shoes that I still have to this day (they're my fave). I did receive my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 2018; however, after graduation, I decided not to pursue law enforcement for personal reasons and because I found a new love and desire for photography. It would still be a dream come true to become a law enforcement officer, but with the way things are today, I am perfectly happy and content in my growing photography business.

5. I had a Justin Bieber hair style!

I saved the best for last! Yeah, for real, no joke, I had a Justin Bieber hair-do! There is a crazy story behind their hair-style, LOL, and I was so embarrassed of it at the time; but now that I look back at it - oh my goodness- I rocked that hair style, LOL! My hair took about two and a half years to grow to how I wear it now. Believe it or not, the Justin Bieber hair-do was crazy hard to maintain.

So there you have it- five things you probably didn't know about me! Now that you know a little bit about me, tell me about yourself! Leave a comment below and give yourself an introduction and tell me something that makes you unique!

I know most people will probably want to see more photos of the Bieber look, so here you go- hope you have a good laugh!
